Ever since COVID-19 broke out, many companies have advised their employees to work from home. We are living in a different environment from what we used to live in. It is essential to take care of small steps and different positions while working from home. 

Since we are spending most of our time online working, we need to ensure that we move from time to time as well. This will eventually ensure that you move accordingly. You need to avoid sitting for too long, but being hunched on your laptop will ultimately cause you a lot of pain around the neck and back area. Well, certain steps can be of help to avoid the risk of neck and back injury. 

Some of the prominent things that can help you avoid the risk of spraining your neck and back, according to the experts at Careaxis, include the following.

Move

One of the key things you need to do while sitting is keeping moving. You need to ensure that you keep moving every 30 minutes. Increased mobility helps to avoid the risk of injuries. Being on the move every 30 minutes may be confusing. So, you may prefer setting up a reminder on your phone or calendar. 

Stay hydrated

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, one of the best ways to keep it away is to stay hydrated. While you are on the move, you need to ensure that you drink enough water. Not staying hydrated is also one of the main reasons why people are prone to neck and back injuries. So, now that you are at home working, you will have some freedom to move around and drink water. 

Be creative

Not having a proper work location in your house can be pretty distracting. Well, one of the key things that can keep you hooked to your desk is being creative. You need to use most of the essentials in your house to ensure the best. Things such as standing desks and cardboard boxes can prove to be effective drawers. As a result, you may prefer moving accordingly. Also, these are affordable, too, right?

Don’t sit too much

Sitting for too long in a hunched position towards your laptop can be very harmful. If you are attending an online meeting or telephone calls, you may prefer standing rather than sitting. But how do you refrain from yourself? Get yourself an ironing board that can be of great help.
