Paul James – From Fitness Models to Fat Men

Should a trainer understand his client? Of course, most of us must, agrees and will be right. But, the question arises: how can a fitness model with a press like a washboard, who has never had problems with either health, self-esteem, or appearance, understand the problems of Buying Steroids in USA.

Even if he is an excellent trainer, but he will never feel all the experiences of a client who wears 20.30 or 40 kg of excess fat.

Coach from Australia Paul James decided to stay in the shoes of his wards and set up an experiment on himself. His goal was to gain as many extra pounds, and then return to good shape.

I must say that Paul had something to lose: he was a successful fitness model and, probably, the only person who voluntarily decided to part with excellent physical shape for such an ambiguous reason as “it is better to understand his clients”.

So, in January 2009, Paul began to move towards his goal: gain 40 kg. and live in the typical style of an obese person for 6 months. Starting weight – 80 kg. and 6% fat, the final result is 120 kg. and 32% fat. This result was achieved in 4 months and another 2 months Paul supported this condition. During this time, Paul detailed his changes.

After several months of constant absorption of fatty and fried foods and soda, Paul felt addicted to such foods. He really enjoyed these products. He says that it became a painful addiction, which was very difficult to fight.

The extra pounds were not slow in affecting health and well-being – blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels rose. In addition, he noted that he was always in some half-asleep state and lacked vital energy.

Paul realized one more thing – to be overweight – an expensive pleasure in the truest sense of the word. Now he spent 3-4 times more on food than before.

The way back

July 1, 2009 began the movement in the opposite direction. This time, Paul James was fully aware of all the difficulties faced by his wards. He could not act by previous methods. For example, a large load on the joints did not allow him to run. And lower back pain limited physical activity.

The most difficult period was the first 3 months of weight loss – although he did everything right – the results were not very good. But as soon as things got off the ground, it became much easier morally. And the more Paul lost weight, the better his mood became.

By the end of the experiment, Paul reduced his waist from 112 to 81 cm and the percentage of fat from 32 to 10.

You can look at the stages of Paul’s transformation in this video:

I must say that the risky experiment helped Paul’s career: this story spread throughout the world and increased his attractiveness as a coach. Paul became the hero of many talk shows and many people wanted to get advice from a person who “was in their shoes.”
